um, ya. If I gotta pay $8.50 to see a movie and nearly the same again if I want to chaw on popcorn and slurp a soda, (turn your cell phones off please) then it better be a VERY good movie. Otherwise, I can wait for the video, and watch it in my underwear, thank you very much.

It is interesting to me that it seems like the big record companies are finding themselves in a similar place as that of the big studios and the real vigor is with the independent artists that are making records out of their own pocket books. We seem to be living in a time that is calling out for significant change in almost every sphere of our culture. It's as if the machinery that seemed like it would just hum along for ever has begun to rattle, clank, and spit out broken parts. This is an era to learn what it might mean to live a creative life as we pick our way through the ruins.
