I watched F Is For Fake a few weeks ago myself, following your recommendation in the comments of one of my posts. I agree completely and wholeheartedly with your review - the film was very much like watching a magic trick, and I couldn't stop smiling throughout it. That mischeivous smile you mentioned is one of the things that makes it so wonderful - you know Welles is pulling something over on you, but you just don't know what. And the way he jumps from one topic to another and yet manages to wrap it up in such a neat little package, complete with a bow, was a marvel to behold.

Incidentally, I just read the other day that the story of the author who wrote the fake biography of Howard Hughes is about to become a majory motion picture starring Richard Gere.
